Connect and control your existing Kardex storage solution through CRIBWISE®. This integration simplifies daily work on the shop floor for operators – only one point of use storage solution software that is user friendly and intuitive. SEAMLESS INTEGRATIONS
A simple software menu allows users to connect to Kardex
Shuttle and/or Megamat vertically oriented automated storage solutions. Working through normal ShopFloor Interface (SFI), simply select ‘Kardex’ as a storage device solution. The integration works seamlessly with Kardex accessories like laser pointers and confirm / cancel buttons on the physical device.
KARDEX INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT
CRIBWISE® offers installation service for any Kardex storage device, but as the solution can vary in complexity, we offer this service on an hourly rate. For CRIBWISE® Basic or Premium support, Kardex device support is not included. To accommodate customer needs per case, CRIBWISE® uses an additional addon called Kardex Support (per device) for yearly support.
Note: CRIBWISE® connects to the JMIF (Java Machine Interface) server that is configured for CRIBWISE® when set-up/installed by Customer or Kardex representative. CRIBWISE® does not sell the Kardex solution, physical storage unit, or the JMIF server software.
Megamat 350 vertical storage solutions work on a ‘goods to person’ principle, and can now be controlled directly from your CRIBWISE® system.
Kardex Shuttles are modular and flexible in design, and together with CRIBWISE® enables future adjustments for your business needs.
REQUIREMENTS
• Customer has a Kardex Megamat or Shuttle lift solution installed onsite.
• Customer must have JMIF server installed and configured from Kardex or its reseller.
• CRIBWISE® integrates the Shopfloor interface to JMIF server. One JMIF Server at customer site can (by default) manage up to four openings (Megamat and/or Shuttles) with four SFI connections (connected to same JMIF).
• By extending the JMIF server license, more devices can be connected. The JMIF server needs to have the network open to the physical Kardex devices but also to the PC where the CRIBWISE® SFI is installed.
The CRIBWISE® SFI needs internet access to synch to CRIBWISE® AP in the cloud and access to JMIF Server.
When installation/onboarding is to be performed by CRIBWISE® for the SFI, all perquisites below must be in place at the customer site:
• JMIF Server installed with network connection open to SFI computer
• IP address and port to JMIF server available
• Opening address to where SFI should be installed and controlling Kardex solution
• Number of trays in the solution
• Tray dimensions (in mm to be able to build the stock structure in SFI and for Laser pointer)
• SFI computer network access to cloud for regular synch to Admin Portal
It’s technical possible but NOT recommended to install the JMIF server on the CRIBWISE® SFI PC! (CRIBWISE® support does not support JMIF, and Kardex support would have difficulties to close SFI and reach JMIF when SFI is on top. When JMIF server is set up by Kardex (jmif.properties), the configuration file must be adopted to CRIBWISE®. When JMIF is ordered, the customer needs to request the file to work with CRIBWISE®.
Any failed prerequisite causing delay or failed installation of SFI by CRIBWISE® installation partner already onsite, will be invoiced and new installation needs to be ordered.
LIMITATIONS
Kardex solutions can be configured to have multiple openings on a single storage unit. For example: one opening per floor or a shuttle with one opening in front and another in the back for the same lift. CRIBWISE® does not support this. Only one opening for same storage unit can be controlled by CRIBWISE® SFI.
